FAMILY PROBLEMS

I’m sorry I didn’t have the opportunity to read all the great stories of people who read mine. First, I had a health problem several weeks ago. I went into the hospital on a Tuesday afternoon and came home on Thursday evening. I was weak and on medication, so took a break from writing stories. Then I had trouble with both my laptop and printer/scanner. I got both back yesterday after several days in the shop. That was the second time for both. I hope there won’t be more problems. I’m healing and the laptop and printer/scanner seem okay now.

Here we are once again. This week we’re sitting in a small restaurant across the street from a city apartment building. We’ve gathered as the Friday Fictioneers group. With us is our hostess, the gracious and talented author and artist, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. The challenge for each of us is to write a story with no more than 100 words. It’s supposed to have a beginning, middle, end, and follow the picture prompt provided for the week. This week’s prompt was provided by Rochelle. Thanks again, Rochelle, and Happy Birthday.

Some years ago, Planet Z12 decided to send a couple, the Aughts, to imbed themselves in the U.S.A., Planet Earth, to see if people of Z12 could survive there. They were given Earth currency and documents.

“Oot,” his wife Int said, “we have two young ones now. When are we going back to Z12?”

He answered, “We fit in here, I have a good job, and the young ones are happy. I think Z12 has forgotten about us. Just enjoy this life and don’t nag.”

“Oot, you never did like my family.”

“You have become too much like Earth women.”
