Here we are for another week. Today we’re in a virtual grille in a virtual town. Our hostess for this weekly gathering is the talented and gracious author and artist, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. We’re the Friday Fictioneers group. Our challenge this week and every week is to write an original story with no more than 100 words, not including the title. THE BANNER GRILLE by P.S. Joshi

The Banner Grille was a favorite hangout for gossips in Pendleton. No day was complete until several stopped in to drink coffee or tea and catch the news.

Mr. Edwards at the Pendleton Times said, “Those women get more news at the Grille than in my paper.”

No one will ever forget the day there was news Marie Jones, a young widow, took in a roomer. He was supposed to be doing more than rooming.

When the news reached Marie, she came storming in. The police were called.
