Episode 7 of Thistledown Midsummer Bedlam by Teagan Geneviene
Can someone please hide Trump’s phone or change his Twitter password? I guess he does not understand what a solar eclipse is does he?
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon moves between the sun and the earth, temporarily blocking the light necessary for life itself. It is only temporary and the sunlight returns to continue the circle of life.
Using the logic of his retweet shown above, Trump is claiming that he is temporarily blocking the life-sustaining light that Obama provided to the world and will move out of the way so that Obama can continue to shine. In other words, Obama is the light and life giving while Trump is dark and void of life. SMDH…
I could continue on and on with this, but I imagine that you get the picture. If anything else, this meme is poking fun of Trump more than it makes him great. …

Russell strikes again. Hilarious.
I’ve just returned from Little Rock where Dr. John Dornhoffer laid over my right ear and replaced my pea-sized brain with one the size of a marble.
So far, the results have been fantastic (except for the excessive rattling). My muse has returned full force and my wit is sharper and stronger than ever as evidenced by the story below. Now, it is with all modesty and humility I can confidently proclaim to the world that I am indeed “sharp as a marble.”

A vital issue and numbers you can call
The republican President Donald Trump is scrambling to shore up his base which appears to be more loyal to the president than the republican US congressional representatives including the majority speaker Senator Mitch McConnell and the house speaker Rep. Paul Ryan.
This is the power that president wields. This is why he is fighting for the funds to build a wall; why he recently surprised the military with his intent to bar transgender individuals from being permitted to serve in the military.
This is why he did a shout out to his White supremacists’ base where he was equating hate groups like White supremacists, White nationalists, KKK, neo-Nazis, racists with those who oppose them after the Charlottesville, VA. White Nationalist rally which turned violent during the weekend of August 12, 2017. The presidents words has shocked most Americans but the president remains resolute in his thinking.

We hear from someone with a backbone.
This is a story about Sister Erica Jordan who attended a CNN town hall forum meeting where the republican US House Speaker Paul Ryan, of the Catholic faith, was present. He was there to answer questions posed to him by members in the audience. Once Sister Jordan had her turn, she courageously questioned him about his lack of moral leadership, as when he was pushing passage for a republican healthcare bill and the anticipated tax reform/ tax cut proposal that’s literally cruel to the poor.
In the recent past, many of Representative Ryan’s constituents in Wisconsin had been complaining about how he appeared to be deliberately holding a town hall meeting.
Here’s Sister jordan’s question:
How does Ryan square his Catholic religion, with upholding the Church’s teaching that God is always on the side of the poor and dispossessed?
“After this town hall event where this fearless Catholic nun exposed and shamed Paul…

Why we must remain vigilant.
Roger Cohen has been a writer for the New York Times since 1990. This morning, an OpEd he wrote titled Truth, Lies and Numbness caught my eye and I would like to share parts of it with you today, for it makes an important statement.
You grow numb. You grow weary. I recall discovering a few weeks back that President Trump had lied about two phone calls, one from the president of Mexico and one from the head of the Boy Scouts. The calls, supposedly to congratulate him, did not exist. They never happened. They were pure inventions. Asked if Trump had lied, the White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, said, “I wouldn’t say it was a lie.”
I actually remember shrugging. The shrug was terrifying. This is how autocrats — or would-be autocrats — cement their power. They wear you down with their lies. They distract you. They…

Someone doing good things one person at a time.
This is the post that I originally wrote for this week’s Good People post, but then I had second thoughts. I had quite an internal debate with myself about whether or not this man actually fit the profile. In past posts to the category, I have highlighted people who gave of their time or money to help people in a more direct sort of way than this person is doing. I have also tried to avoid conflict, controversy and politics in my ‘good people’ posts. This is where my debate came into play. I nearly scuttled this post altogether, but it kept nagging at me, and an inner voice told me I needed to write it. Mr. Daryl Davis has not adopted special needs kids, he has not set up foundations to help feed the poor, he has not built homes for people in need. What he has done that…

My thanks toAurora Jean Alexander for sending me this
it’s one of the best tributes to women I’ve read
When God created woman he was working late on the 6th day…….
An angel came by and asked.” Why spend so much time on her?”
The lord answered. “Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her?”
●She must function on all kinds of situations.
●She must be able to embrace several kids at the same time.
●Have a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart.
●She must do all this with only two hands.
●She cures herself when sick and can work 18 hours a day.
The Angel was impressed” Just two hands…..impossible!
And this is the standard model?”
The Angel came closer and touched the woman.
“But you have made her so soft, Lord”.
“She is soft”…
