Two Of The Worst Things …

The worse things.

Filosofa's Word

The end of not only a year, but a decade fraught with troubles lends itself to musings and ponderings.  If I put my mind to it, I could come up with at least 50 things Donald Trump has done in his three-year tenure that are wrong, disgusting, destructive, and pose a threat to either the nation’s internal or external security.  But, there are two that stand out most, that are so incredibly cruel or stupid that my jaw still drops when I think of them.

The first is the policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the southern border, then putting the children in detention centers where even their most basic needs are often not met.  This is, as much as any, a crime against humanity and one that, while the people of this nation were up in arms over for a time, seems to be largely forgotten…

Two Very Different Men in Congress …

Important news.

Filosofa's Word

As I reported last week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, along with Lindsey Graham and other republicans in the Senate, clearly stated that he has no intention of conducting a fair and impartial impeachment trial, but that he plans to “coordinate with the White House” every step of the way.  Well, that raised my hackles, for it is an intentional dereliction of his sworn duty to uphold the U.S. Constitution, but apparently it didn’t set too well with some others, as well.

First, Senator Lisa Murkowski from Alaska, the only republican to have voted “Nay” to the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, said …

“When I heard that I was disturbed. To me it means that we have to take that step back from being hand in glove with the defense, and so I heard what leader McConnell had said, I happened to think that that has further…

The Rich Get Richer …

The rich are getting richer.

Filosofa's Word

Last night, I came across a short piece by Robert Reich, whose work I’ve shared here before.  I hadn’t, to the best of my knowledge, heard of Paul Singer before, so after reading Reich’s piece, I did some digging.  Paul Singer is one nasty man … a very wealthy, nasty man.

From time to time, I’m going to write in some detail about how the American oligarchy is shafting Americans by siphoning up the wealth of the nation for itself and corrupting our politics. Please let me know if you find these short summaries helpful.

Today’s example: Billionaire Paul Singer’s Elliott Management hedge fund, which has launched a campaign to lay off workers, sell off key assets, and extract huge short-term profits at AT&T – the iconic $270 billion company with 257,000 employees.Paul SingerSinger wants AT&T to save up to $10 billion a year…

Guess who’s back? (again..)

Kawanee is slowly healing.

Hey guys…

Been dealing with a few things, looking for work, sorting my mind and house and kind of living a life offline a bit. I’m back in counseling, I really like her. She’s pretty smart and I think it’s helping. I’ve been getting better and better. Still not 100% but yeah, I feel like I’m turning a corner.

Had some interesting dreams this year, the kind that let me know that I’m healing. Hopeful dreams, visitation dreams… I’m doing the things I should’ve been doing. Getting back into a routine.

This road is curvy and I never know what is around the bend and sometimes it’s downright foggy but I’m muddling through. I navigate it the only way I know how… carefully and slowly but sometimes way too fast. I’m getting better. 🙂

My counselor thinks I should make a podcast or a youtube channel to work through things…

Getting what I needed: :) Happy Post

Kawanee goes shopping.

So, let me tell you guys something. I haven’t done the doorbuster day after thanksgiving day thing since Pokemon cards came out. Oh, wait. It was in 2003… I got a computer that was on sale… anyways!

This year, they finally had something I was willing to brave the crowds for. Ready for this? An air fryer! My cousin had a fancy kitchen doohicky (don’t worry, the translation is at the bottom of the post) instead of frying food with grease, it does it with superheated air and is healthier for you. I have wanted one for a year or so but they are expensive and I wasn’t sure I’d use it and couldn’t justify the expenditure. Now, this local store had one for $20! Heck yeah, that I can do… and if I don’t use it, I won’t feel horrible about spending the money on it BECAUSE if you…
